“When the Hurt Runs Deep by Kay Arthur is a stunning fusion of grace and reality. It is concise, kind, theologically sound, and Christ-centered. Kay’s words, as usual, reverence and reveal God’s Word, which is the only thing that can support the weight of our faith. I’m pleased to suggest this superb book.

She has explored the Scripture and discovered a wealth of healing and hope in the midst of her own dark times and difficult situations. President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Dr. Tim Clinton
How quickly we forget that the Bible gives us a written guarantee that we will experience tribulation in our lives. This guarantee includes not only the cosmic, earth-shattering tribulation that results from tragedies like 9/11, but also the tribulation that personally rocks our lives when a diagnosis is not favorable, a husband leaves the family, or a job is lost. The Prince of Peace, however, remains in the middle of all the chaos, sharing our suffering, hurting with us, and encouraging us in our uncertainty. Kay Arthur, a woman who adores the Bible, leads us to the place where we might find lasting healing and genuine hope. As you read her words, take solace in the knowledge that even in the midst of great hurt, He is present with His deeper love.
—Janet Parshall, a radio broadcaster and novelist with a large listenership
“Kay Arthur is one of the kingdom’s most talented professors. She shares wisdom from both her extensive study of Scripture and from both teaching and writing in this book. What a hidden gem it is!
—Chuck Colson, the man of the Colson Center for Christian Worldview and Prison Fellowship.
“Kay Arthur is a wonderful friend and a much better person overall. Her writing, speaking, and teaching have had a global impact on millions of people. Another fantastic investment in the people she cares about is When the Hurt Runs Deep. Because Kay has “been there” and has learnt to walk by faith through some extremely dark valleys, her book is significant. As you read these pages and go with her, I can assure you that she will place your hand in the hand of the One who will truly offer healing and hope. This book is fantastic. After reading it, give a copy to a friend.
