Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre
A fictitious narrative of the life of securities trader Jesse Livermore may be found in Reminiscences. Despite its antiquity, the book is still useful for learning about trading and speculating. Many of the traders that Jack Schwager spoke with referenced Reminiscences as a key resource for stock trading learning material for both novice and seasoned traders in Market Wizards. In the book, Livermore’s journey from day trading in what were then referred to as “New England bucket shops” to market speculator, market maker, and market manipulator culminates with his arrival on Wall Street, where he earned and lost his money several times. Livermore picks up a lot of lessons along the road, which he is happy to share with the reader.
