Sensei Hideharu Igaki will lead us through the in-depth kicking methods, fighting applications, and actual combat of Karate Shito Ryu on this DVD. Before immigrating to the US and taking on the position of head coach of the US Karate Federation, Sensei Hideharu Igaki competed as a professional kickboxer.
Basics (kihon), transitional moves (henkawaza), combinations (renzokuwaza), feints (kensei), and countering with kicks are the other four categories. Maegeri, Mawashigeri, Kakegeri, Ushirogeri, Ushiromawashigeri, and Uchimawashigeri are all combinations that are included in each. This program demonstrates in great detail more than 50 traditional kicking techniques for either competition or self-defense with the help of fantastic slow motion sequences.
Hideharu Igaki Sensei, who was born on September 7, 1956, is in his second decade as the head coach of the United States National Karate Team. He holds a black belt in Tenshin-Ko-Ryu Kenpo and an instructor’s license in Fujitani-Ha Shito-Ryu Meibu-Kai. Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1979, he was also a skilled kickboxer in Japan. 2012 Instructor at Hillsboro, Oregon’s NJKFNW Hobu Dojo. In Hillsboro, Oregon, he also collaborates with his wife, Jan, to produce exquisite Hikidashi clay art.
