Mastering the Mount, disc one
A great mount, good posture, and pressure from both the upright and “low” mounts are all covered in this disc by SBGi President Matt Thornton. After that, Matt demonstrates the “kings game,” a collar choke finish from the top of the mount. This substance will raise your mount game regardless of your belt level. (1 hour)
Disc 2: The closed guard in mastery
Longtime SBG BJJ black belt Eric Hemphill shows the fundamentals of a successful closed guard game on this disc. He starts with good posture before engaging in arm drags, submission strikes, and other gripping techniques. Eric then demonstrates how to open the closed guard securely as well as the defenses against these identical attacks.

Disc #3: Back defense and the “I” technique
This disc is essential for anybody who instructs BJJ or wants to improve their knowledge of effective drill technique for personal growth. Brown belt in BJJ and Coach at SBGi HQ An complete group is guided step-by-step through the cutting-edge drilling techniques utilized by SBGi competitors throughout the world by Cane Prevost. Travis Davison, a longtime SBG Coach and black belt in BJJ, then demonstrates a basic back escape game that can help you survive and get out of this risky position. (One hour and fourteen minutes)
Counter Submissions, Disc 4
The SBG curriculum’s previously unpublished content, presented by Matt Thornton, demonstrates how to respond to contributions even when you are operating from a later or “nearly tapped” position. These include counters to armbars, uma platas, and kimuras. Additionally, Matt demonstrates step-by-step how, even at this advanced point, posture—often simply done by elevating a leg or posting in the appropriate location on the mat—is what gives you the capacity to protect yourself. This disc will not only help you better grasp how to defend against the most frequent submissions, but it will also broaden your knowledge of how and why BJJ operates as it does. (1 hour)
Disc #5: MMA stand-up practice
Boxing Coach Brian Walsh of the SBGi headquarters teaches correct and practical stand-up drills in a “Alive” manner. One of the biggest illusions about martial arts and sports coaching in general, to paraphrase Brian, is that all forms of drilling and training are advantageous. A lot of people’s stand-up/boxing training methods can really work against them. Brian demonstrates how to avoid these traps. The most frequent training errors, how and why to emphasize movement, maintaining good hand placement, range, power, and the inner usage of the head for control are all covered in the course material. This DVD is what you need if you want to improve your standup performance. (55 seconds)
