It’s strange how you start watching the time in anticipation of finishing your assignment. You begin to use phrases like “Thank God it’s Friday.” You start putting on a few pounds while working at the office or while working from home. having a couple more wine glasses than you would want while being unsure of why. You used to like your work. You once had a great plan, but somewhere along the line, you lost sight of some of it.

Your revenue sources don’t align with your aspirations, despite your desire to challenge and explore.

You observe some folks glide by you while others stockpile their income. You are aware of your abilities, but you lack the proper playbook. You have to create the rules since everyone else seems to already be familiar with them.
Where you are now, I have also been.

I don’t know if you can relate, but for around ehhh 12+ years I worked at jobs I didn’t really enjoy to appease people I disliked, all in an effort to meet societal norms and make money.

I used to despise my job, work 65–70 hours a week, be a slave to my money, and be in a terrible relationship.

In essence, I felt like I had no control over anything in my life, much alone my daily activities. Despite having a degree, a title in investment banking, a ton of experience, and what appeared to be a fairly glitzy existence, I was miserable and stuck in a never-ending cycle.

I still clearly recall how it felt to be lost, to be working to someone else’s schedule, and to be sick of having my time be connected to money.

Then one day I appeared to awaken. Most likely at the same time as my divorce. I was in an uncomfortable, unattractive suit dress and generally irritated about working at this company as I sat in on another business meeting.

I had a lot of money coming in, but I had little to show for it.

My connections and relationships were average.

Fewer outcomes than I hoped and no clear game strategy.

I would scurry from one chance to the next or linger too long.

I was surrounded by others who were just like me, but they lacked the solutions.

I was helpless.
Because doing things THEIR way was my REAL PROBLEM.

So I made the decision to do it MY WAY.

My name is Codie Sanchez. I am a former Wall Streeter, private equity investor, and writer who has since founded many 7 and 8 figure firms and owned more than 30 small enterprises.
