Description
In order to allow pupils to pursue the traditional Japanese martial arts (Kobudo) freely and unrestrictedly under his supervision, Fumio Manaka, well known by his martial moniker “Unsui,” created the Jinenkan in 1996. Between 1997 and 2005, Manaka Sensei wrote a number of publications for his pupils on a range of subjects pertaining to the arts practiced at the Jinenkan, such as the methods, narratives, and tactics of the numerous martial Ryuha (lineages). These essays were initially released as a gold mine of knowledge for pupils since the material they contained had never before been available in the English language. The most fundamental methods used in the Jinenkan are covered in this book along with an outline of the martial Ryuha that are learned, drawing on those original writings. The book contains a lot of information that will interest more seasoned practitioners even though it is meant to serve as an introduction to the Jinenkan for novice pupils.
