Over the past 40 years, NLP has become a tool for change in a vast array of areas. Even former U.S. President Bill Clinton used some of the most effective state management practices when he was in the White House.

I’ve constantly utilized it to improve a lot of things in my life. The most satisfying shift may have occurred seven years ago, when my mother was severely injured in a car accident and sustained significant brain damage. She awoke from a nearly one-month coma while lying paralyzed in intensive care to find herself unable to move and, unbeknownst to her at the time, her brain had been characterized as being in a “vegetative” state.

There aren’t many larger challenges than that.

It’s difficult to understand what it must have been like for her now that I think back on it. the great uncertainty, worry, and terror. However, I was adamant that the doctors would not inform her that she was paralyzed because, after spending a great deal of time studying NLP and hypnosis, I was personally aware of the damaging effects of “negative suggestions” and how we are constantly subjected to them from others. For this reason, I knew it was imperative that the doctors keep her paralysis a secret. I would personally inform her if she wasn’t able to walk or recuperate in a few months.

She did, however, have a strong desire to heal and recover and radiated many of the essential attitudes that are taught in this program, which begins with learning to control one’s own condition.

I shaped and directed her condition, explaining to her what this new world of “not moving” meant and rewiring her brain with new connections about what was possible using my knowledge and NLP talents, which I first gained by doing it on myself.

You probably encountered (or are facing) a lot of obstacles as well. But no matter how difficult the situation, there is a way to be resourceful.

I experience a profound sense of tremendous thankfulness and happiness as I consider the progress my mother has made in her recuperation.

She regained her ability to walk despite suffering serious brain damage and being unable to move practically any part of her body. And a whole lot more.
