The Portuguese Jogo do Pau is a fighting technique, which at present is considered as the only Portuguese Martial Art. Thanks to the invaluable research of Master Nuno Russo, they have been able to recuperate and revive this interesting modality. In this interesting work we are shown the present technique that has evolve gaining much more attacking speed and power as well as more flexibility when fighting against various adversaries. We will analyze the guards, attacks, defenses and counterattacks, competition modality with specific protection for this art, as well as the short 80cm stick (cane) that came about after the prohibition of the long stick in popular fiestas and which is now being taught to the Portuguese Police.
