The most renowned and experienced practitioner of Takeda ryu traditional aiki jujutsu is Roland Maroto. He is an 8th dan hanshi-ho student of Sensei Nakamura and, since 2005, has been the official representative of Dai Nippon Butokukai in the aikijujutsu direction outside of Japan. He also serves as the organization’s coordinator in France.
A brief history of the style is presented, along with uncommon and distinctive images and videos from the 1970s of the 20th century, as well as fundamental movements (warm-up, falling, moving, etc.), fundamental techniques (kihon waza), advanced techniques both with and without weapons, and some advanced techniques that are also demonstrated.
The program goes into great depth, emphasising important information while avoiding needless repetition. Each method is demonstrated both quickly and slowly from various perspectives.
