Hand-drawn storyboards are used in even the most polished CG-Animated films. You can see that storyboards are still drawn in the same way they always have if you look at any of the “Art of…” volumes on Pixar, Dreamworks, Sony, and Disney movies.

And that’s only the beginning —

Storyboard artists are continually needed to create the “blueprints” and pre-visualization graphics that special-effects-driven blockbusters, which still rule the box office, require. Storyboard artists are employed daily by action movies, video games, TV shows, and even advertising.
