Anapanasati Mindfulness on In-and-Out Breathing from Ajahn Pasanno
In 1974, Ven. Pasanno Bhikkhu underwent ordination in Thailand under the guidance of Ven. Phra Khru Naasirivatana. He was introduced to Ajahn Chah during his first year as a monk by his instructor, and he requested permission to stay and practice with him. Ven. Pasanno, one of Wat Pah Nanachat’s original inhabitants, was appointed its abbot in his ninth year. Ajahn Pasanno has established himself as a very well-known and highly esteemed monk and Dhamma teacher in Thailand during his tenure as abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat, which has grown significantly in both size and reputation during his tenure. On December 31, 1997, Ajahn Pasanno relocated to California to co-abbot the Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery.
During the annual Winter Retreat, from January 4 to January 22, 2005, the community at Abhayagiri Buddhist Monastery received this series of Dhamma Talks on the phases of Anapanasati.
