Regarding the Course
What is the universe’s starting point? What exactly are dark energy and dark matter? What part do we play as intelligent human actors in the universe? What gives humans the appearance of being conscious intelligent cognitive agents?
Philosophers are faced with important problems as a result of scientific study in the physical and cognitive sciences. This course’s objective is to familiarize you with some of the important areas and subjects at the crucial intersection of philosophy and the sciences. The curriculum is divided into two main sections:
1. Philosophical and scientific fields
2. The Cognitive Sciences and Philosophy
We’ll expose you to a few of these significant, cutting-edge scientific research issues each week. We will explore the philosophical and conceptual issues raised by each topic while simultaneously providing a straightforward, non-technical explanation of the underlying science. You’ll gain knowledge in the following areas:
We will discuss the nature of dark energy and dark matter, as well as the significance of anthropocentric thinking in the explanation of our world, in the philosophy of cosmology.
We shall discuss the development of the human mind and the nature of consciousness in terms of psychology philosophy.
The nature of human cognition and the interactions between the environment, machines, and the mind will be discussed in this philosophy of neurosciences course.
