Wheels Within Wheels: The Art of Forecasting Financial Market Cycles, a new course by Dan Ferrera, is now available. Dan breaks down the 16 key cycles of the Dow Jones Averages in this course and merges them in Excel spreadsheets to construct a composite wave that closely resembles market behavior during the previous 100 years (see chart below). In order to provide a comprehensive picture of the Dow Jones Averages’ upcoming 100 years, he clarifies all cycle durations, considers some potential connections, but most crucially, he projects them 100 years into the future using the DTF Barometer.

After studying and utilizing cycles in the stock market for the past 32 years, I have learned to value them and believe that studying economic cycles is the only useful tool a long-term investor truly needs. Because of this, I was curious to read Daniel Ferrera’s latest “Special Stock Market Cycle Report” to see if he could provide any insight into the economy’s future going forward and whether his predictions were different from mine. In Dan’s paper, the long-term “Super” bull and bear market cycles are fundamentally explained, their subcycles are broken down using examples from the last 100 years, and then they are predicted for the next 100 years. The predictions made by these cycles over the next ten years, and the next two to four years in particular, would surprise the majority of investors. Understanding such significant highs and lows is essential to building wealth, and I think that the European Rothschild family particularly claimed that they amassed all of their money by just adhering to the 41–42 month economic cycle that served their family well for more than a century! When these “once in a lifetime” chances for stock investment arise, you will undoubtedly want to be aware of them if you are a long-term investor or mutual fund owner, since Dan’s analysis identifies the enormous highs and lows that result from extremely predictable and reliable cycles. The more frequent short term cycles of economic activity are also discussed in this study since they can serve as a benchmark for the results predicted by the master long term cycles. You must be aware of the facts in this report if you want to invest any long-term capital in the market. What is forex?

Quite simply, it’s the global market that allows one to trade two currencies against each other.

If you think one currency will be stronger versus the other, and you end up correct, then you can make a profit.

If you’ve ever traveled to another country, you usually had to find a currency exchange booth at the airport, and then exchange the money you have in your wallet into the currency of the country you are visiting.

Foreign Exchange
You go up to the counter and notice a screen displaying different exchange rates for different currencies.

An exchange rate is the relative price of two currencies from two different countries.

You find “Japanese yen” and think to yourself, “WOW! My one dollar is worth 100 yen?! And I have ten dollars! I’m going to be rich!!!”
When you do this, you’ve essentially participated in the forex market!

You’ve exchanged one currency for another.

Or in forex trading terms, assuming you’re an American visiting Japan, you’ve sold dollars and bought yen.

Currency Exchange

Before you fly back home, you stop by the currency exchange booth to exchange the yen that you miraculously have left over (Tokyo is expensive!) and notice the exchange rates have changed.

It’s these changes in the exchange rates that allow you to make money in the foreign exchange market.
