WHAT DOES STANDARD N-BACK TRAINING ENCOMPASS?

Starting with a “n-back” = 1, the Dual Training Mode operates precisely the same as either the Visual Training Mode or the Audio Training Mode. The distinction is that you now need to monitor not just one, but now two sensory modalities at once! You hear letters that are different from one another phonologically when the square changes places. If there is a visual match, you must hit the “F” key, and if there is an audio (letter) match, you must press the “L” key. You must simultaneously hit the “F” and “L” keys if there is a match for both at the same time. In the picture below, there are 2 spatial (square) matches and 2 verbal (letter) matches in 6 movements for the next n-back level up, a 2-back.
