German 2 continues where German 1 ends, deepening your understanding of the fundamentals through new verbs and verb conjugations, an expanding vocabulary, and a wide range of other essential language components. By the end of German 2, you will have made significant progress toward becoming a more proficient German speaker, hopefully setting you up for progressing to a more intermediate level.

Before extending on the use of prepositions and how they also imply different cases, you’ll start by honing your understanding of articles, adjectives, and pronouns in the various cases. Additionally, you’ll go over present tense verb conjugations and begin looking at past tense verbs, which include regular endings as well as some significant irregular verbs.

All of these efforts will result in more nuanced and significant interactions with friends, coworkers, and service providers in restaurants and travel agencies. You’ll purchase new clothing and accessories, as well as a phone for your trip, and you’ll also try a lot of new foods.
