Suganuma Morito (8th dan aikikai).
Born in 1942 in the Japanese prefecture of Fukushima, he started learning aikido in 1963.
One of the final generations of students trained by Morihei Ueshiba, the creator of aikido, is Shihan Suganuma.
He has lived and taught aikido in Fukuoka since since he was sent to spread aikido in the southern region of Japan in 1970.
Shihan Suganuma is a master of calligraphy and Zen in addition to aikido.
