A stock trader or equity trader or share trader is a person or company involved in trading equity securities.
Stock traders may be an agent, hedger, arbitrageur, speculator, stockbroker.
Such equity trading in large publicly traded companies may be through a stock exchange.
Stock shares in smaller public companies may be bought and sold in over-the-counter (OTC) markets.
Stock traders can trade on their own account, called proprietary trading, or through an agent authorized to buy and sell on the owner’s behalf.
Trading through an agent is usually through a stockbroker. Agents are paid a commission for performing the trade.
Market makers on major stock exchanges purchase and sell shares of a certain firm on their own behalf and also on behalf of other clients, therefore reducing price variance (volatility).
Financial trader William Delbert Gann, sometimes known as WD Gann (June 6, 1878–June 18, 1955), created the technical analysis tools known as Gann angles, Square of 9, Hexagon, and Circle of 360. (these are Master charts). The Gann market forecasting techniques are based on geometrical principles, celestial mechanics, and prehistoric mathematics. Regarding the worth and applicability of his work, opinions are incredibly split. Gann authored a number of trading books.
In Lufkin, Texas, on June 6, 1878, Gann was born. His father farmed cotton. At the age of 24, he began trading.
He was regarded as a pious man by nature who saw the Bible as the best book ever produced in terms of both religion and science. His novels frequently make reference to this. Although he was also a 33rd degree Freemason of the Scottish Rite Order, he was also known to have studied ancient Greek and Egyptian cultures. Some have linked his familiarity with ancient mathematics to his membership in this organization.
