Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses by A.P.Sinnett
for those who are drawn to folk magic. One of the most well-known occult books ever written, The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses, includes two obscure apocrypha that are purportedly written by Moses. The book is made up of a number of manuscripts that purport to describe the magic employed by Moses to split the Red Sea, defeat the Egyptian priest-magi, and execute other miraculous deeds. It contains instructions for calling on the angels to accomplish earthly goals, ranging from the sublime (casting down a plague of locusts and frogs onto your enemy) to the commonplace, in the form of invocations, magick phrases, and seals (getting more money). Numerous manuscripts and printed pamphlet versions were distributed in Germany during the 1800s, and a Johann Scheible English translation that was initially published in New York in 1880 has not been updated or revised since. Joseph Peterson used the text’s final edition by Scheible as well as his original sources to produce this edition that has been repaired and edited. Anyone searching for a classic source of Western magick and those who have suffered through earlier editions will find it to be of great interest. • Updated or new translations from original German, Latin, and Hebrew sources; restoration of censored or omitted passages in earlier editions; and 35 pages of text that have never been translated. • Used in various modern traditions of American folk magick, from Pennsylvania Dutch hexmeisters and contemporary eclectic magicians to voodoo practitioners and African American root workers. explains the use of the Moses-attributed biblical witchcraft. With more than 100 mystical seals, signs, and sigils used as illustrations.
