Description
Dr. Stephen Birch will be teaching a class on Qi-Regulation using Japanese Meridian Therapy.
Part 1: Stephen Birch provides a brief historical overview, a few historical quotations, and a rudimentary theoretical explanation of Japanese acupuncture, moxibustion, and meridian therapy.
Then he discusses the condition of the body’s qi and how to use needling to try to restore its regulation.
He describes the needle placement methods that are employed in Japanese acupuncture.
He also displays the normal side effects of overtreatment.
How to identify patients who may be sensitive and provide treatment recommendations.
He uses first-hand accounts of how several ailments manifested themselves in him to illustrate his points.
Part 2: Birch uses particular palpation techniques to diagnose the abdomen of a test subject in the practical section.
He describes the several crucial abdominal regions, and you can see precisely how the diagnosis was reached and how the patient responded to his examination.
Birch’s explanation of which responses are typical and which variations may occur is ideal for novices.
Later, the TCM-workshop participants practice, and Birch instructs them.
The close-up shots make it clear how much pressure Birch applies to his patients.
Then he demonstrates pulse diagnosis and goes through various pulse patterns, pulse depth, strength, and speed, as well as how to feel your best.
Part 3 requires the audience to display the pulse diagnostic in groups.
Birch demonstrates how to alter the timing and pressure of the fingertips to more precisely sense the pulse.
He demonstrates how to regulate the finger pressure used to take a pulse.
By describing basic patterns and their meanings, you may learn many pulse patterns.
Later, Birch goes through needling methods and how to manage how deep and quickly you needle.
He demonstrates how to vary the needle tapping and possible outcomes.
Birch shows it on a test subject and explains how the needling causes a response.
You can see exactly how to needle, and he provides a clear explanation of why he needles certain locations.
Part 4: Treatment examples and a Japanese Meridian Therapy four-step fundamental treatment approach:
Birch demonstrates several diagnostic patterns and the associated acupuncture sites once more.
Here, he displays several Japanese acupuncture needling techniques, clarifies the depth to which he inserts the needles to treat particular illnesses, and also discusses various drainage strategies.

More details about Medicine:
The science and art of diagnosing, predicting, treating, and preventing disease is known as medicine.
A wide range of medical procedures have emerged over time to preserve and restore health through sickness prevention and treatment.
In order to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease, modern medicine uses biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology. While most treatments involve drugs or surgery, other options include psychotherapy, external braces and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation.
Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years, the majority of which it was an art (a field of knowledge and ability), typically connected to the local culture’s religious and philosophical beliefs. For instance, a medicine man would apply herbs and recite prayers for healing, or an ancient humorist philosopher and physician might use bloodletting.
Since the development of contemporary science in recent decades, the majority of medicine has evolved into a blend of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science).
While the art of sewing sutures is developed through practice, science provides the understanding of what transpires at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being repaired.
