Stepehn Rosenholtz’s Basic Lessons in Awareness Through Movement: Series I investigates posture, breathing, and the use of the imagination to improve smooth functioning and effective movement. This first series focuses on floor exercises and combines beliefs about how learning affects both hemispheres of the brain with Awareness Through Movement.
Each DVD has eight fundamental, half-hour workouts suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
In 1981, Stephen Rosenholtz received his Ph.D. in Education from Stanford University. Then, in 1983, he graduated from Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais’ Amherst Feldenkrais Training. He has maintained a practice in San Francisco, California, and has taught at Feldenkrais Trainings all around the world since graduating.
Stephen has worked as the Educational Director of Feldenkrais trainings in Germany and Switzerland, and he presently leads the Feldenkrais training in Colima, Mexico.
Dr. Rosenholtz has also developed award-winning musical movement programs for youngsters based on Feldenkrais’ teachings.

Medicine has been around for thousands of years, during most of which it was an art (an area of skill and knowledge) frequently having connections to the religious and
philosophical beliefs of local culture. For example, a medicine man would apply herbs and say prayers for healing, or an ancient philosopher and physician would apply bloodletting according to the theories of humorism.
In recent centuries, since the advent of modern science, most medicine has become a combination of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science).
While stitching technique for sutures is an art learned through practice, the knowledge of what happens at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being stitched arises through science.
