Vladimir’s career covers a decade of duty with the Special Operations Unit.
He also instructed elite groups, SWAT squads, and bodyguards.
Vladimir relocated to Canada and established Systema Headquarters, the first Russian Martial Art school outside of Russia, in 1993.
Since then, he has personally taught and certified well over 100 competent Russian Martial Art instructors and schools throughout the world, as well as produced an award-winning instructional film collection.
The art form originated in Russia.
Even within Russia, it is still relatively unknown.
Vladimir Vasiliev was the first to teach Systema in the West (Toronto) roughly 15 years ago, and it has grown in popularity since then.
Vladimir is quite open about discussing Systema principles and welcomes communication with the Systema’s source, his tutor, Mikhail Ryabko.
Mikhail is widely regarded as one of the few genuine living masters of Russian martial arts.
Vladimir and Mikhail are both still extremely approachable and eager to assist others grasp Systema.
