Description
A high-quality recording of the class will be posted for viewing several hours after it is live broadcast.
A week or so following each session, the instructor’s evaluations of the full participation students will be uploaded for review.

introductory to intermediate
This course serves as an introduction to the ideas that must be comprehended in order to draw the human form well. Through the application of the Reilly rhythm and abstractions, fundamental anatomy, and the study of form, the fundamental concepts of gesture, structure, and mass will be applied to the figure. Short and extended poses will be used in class assignments using handouts and the live model. It is customary for instructors to give criticisms and demonstrate.
After February 1st, registration for courses with Full Participation and Audit-Only options won’t be open.
All livestream students will have access to the Livestream Video Archive until April 12, 2020. (Two weeks after the end of the term).
What is forex?
Quite simply, it’s the global market that allows one to trade two currencies against each other.
If you think one currency will be stronger versus the other, and you end up correct, then you can make a profit.
If you’ve ever traveled to another country, you usually had to find a currency exchange booth at the airport, and then exchange the money you have in your wallet into the currency of the country you are visiting.
Foreign Exchange
You go up to the counter and notice a screen displaying different exchange rates for different currencies.
An exchange rate is the relative price of two currencies from two different countries.
You find “Japanese yen” and think to yourself, “WOW! My one dollar is worth 100 yen?! And I have ten dollars! I’m going to be rich!!!”
When you do this, you’ve essentially participated in the forex market!
You’ve exchanged one currency for another.
Or in forex trading terms, assuming you’re an American visiting Japan, you’ve sold dollars and bought yen.
Currency Exchange
Before you fly back home, you stop by the currency exchange booth to exchange the yen that you miraculously have left over (Tokyo is expensive!) and notice the exchange rates have changed.
It’s these changes in the exchange rates that allow you to make money in the foreign exchange market.

Since 2012, Brian Knox has been a student at Watts Atelier and is now pursuing an illustration career. He gained an instinctive awareness of fundamental shapes and the underlying structures of the human body after concentrating on drawing basics during the first two years of his time at the atelier. He is therefore ideal for imparting the foundational skills of figure drawing. He is now a student in the Watts Atelier student teacher program, concentrating on composition and painting.
